We attended our first scrimmage in Needham last Saturday. We got our first real taste of competition, and were finally able to measure up against other robots. Despite going undefeated, we did encounter multiple flaws. This scrimmage served as a learning experience and allowed us to fix problems in our code for the autonomous portion. The informal setting of the scrimmage allowed us to socialize and network with other teams, as well as compete with them, which was a most humbling experience. One of our programmers actually helped another team fix their code, and we also invited another team, the Windsor Wildbots, to visit our Makerspace at our school so that we can help them fix their robot. We look forward to improving in the following weeks so that we will be competing on a higher level at our first qualifier!
